Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, will enter the New Year with a new city mayor. Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold stood down on 10 December after his resignation letter was accepted by Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh.

The appointment of the new mayor will be discussed at a session of the Ulaanbaatar Citizens’ Representatives Khural (council) on 28 December.

Former MP S.Batbold was appointed as mayor of the Ulaanbaatar cin 2016.
