Just days after North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho visited Mongolia, Mark Lambert, the State Department’s director for Korean policy flew in to Ulaanbaatar. As we reported, Minister Ri arrived in the Mongolian capital on Saturday (8-9 December) for a two-day visit at the invitation of the Mongolian foreign minister.
D.Davaasuren, State Secretary at the Foreign Ministry received Mark Lambert yesterday (13 December). During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on relation between Mongolia and USA and cooperation in the region. Mongolia has been making efforts on Northeast Asian stability, especially supporting a diplomatic resolution to the problems of the Korean Peninsula such as hosting the annual “Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asia Security.” This has been held since 2014.
Mr Lambert expressed his appreciation to Mongolia for implementing the UN resolutions and making efforts on regional issues.
