According to the National Statistics Office of Mongolia, 64.1 thousand mothers delivered 64.5 thousand babies (live births) in the first 10 months of 2018; this represents an increased of 3295 mothers (5.4 percent) and live births 3328 (5.4 percent) compared to the same period last year. This October, 6519 mothers delivered 6554 babies (live births), an increase of  286 mothers (4.6 percent) and live births 270 (4.3 percent) compared to the previous month.

During the first ten months of 2018, there were 865 cases of infant mortality – an increase by 16 cases (1.9 percent) and 1088 cases of under-five mortality – an increase of 54 cases (5.2 percent) compared to the same period of 2017.
