An adorable bear cub will live with a Mongolian herder family in the Bayan-Uul Soum (rural district) of Dornod Province until spring comes. The little animal apparently got lost from its mother and wandered into the herder’s backyard in October. Environmental officers decided to let the herder family to take care cub, which is too small to survive alone in the woods. According to locals, it has been 30 years since bears were last seen in the Bayan-Uul Soum.
Brown bears and their cubs recently have been spotted wandering and searching for food in several locations, such as the Khongor Soum of Darkhan-Uul Province as well as the Delgarkhaan Soum and Khuduu Aral of the Kherlen River of Khentii province. In once recent incident, which we covered, a baby bear actually wandered out of the woods and into the Mongolian capital; the incident took place in the Songinokhairkhan District of Ulaanbaatar city.
