As of today, 286 Mongolian secondary schools and 4 kindergartens have been registered in the international Eco School programme, based on the ISO 14001 environmental management system, which aims at ingraining an environmental-friendly lifestyle.

Under the sustainable development goals, Mongolia plans to implement the Eco School programme in 50 percent of all schools by 2022.

The programme is being implemented in over 51 thousand schools of 67 countries.
