The Bilateral Consultation Mechanism (BCM) between Nepal and Mongolia has held its first meeting in Kathmandu. Established on 12 June, the BCM provides a framework for joint development and cooperation. The Mongolian delegation led by D.Davaasuren, state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia at the meeting which was held on Wednesday 31 October.

During the BCM meeting, various aspects of bilateral relations as well as cooperation in regional and multilateral forums on issues of common interest were discussed. Both sides underscored the need for enhancing cooperation in areas of trade, tourism, culture and people-to-people contacts for further strengthening bilateral relations. The two sides also discussed working together in various global forums to promote the interests of landlocked developing countries.
