Mongolian freestyle wrestler P.Orkhon who was stripped of her Asian champion title after being caught in a doping scandal, has been replaced by S.Battsetseg to participate in the World Freestyle Wrestling Championships. The competition will be held in the Hungarian capital Budapest, from 20 to 28 October. Olympic bronze medalist S.Battsetseg is now included in the Mongolian National Freestyle Team.
P.Orkhon, who had been named champion in the women’s freestyle 62kg class of the 18th Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games 2018 was deprived of her Asian Games gold medal after her urine samples revealed the presence of the prohibited substance Stanazolol; this is a category S1.1A Exogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids of the WADA Prohibited List 2018, and, as such is strictly banned.
Following P.Orkhon’s public disgrace, Mongolia dropped to 17th place with four gold medals in the Asian Championships.
