From today (1 October), Mongolians can report traffic offences by their smartphones instead of calling to police. To use the app, a driver simply has to open the app and take a picture of the number plate of the offending vehicle; fines will then be issued accordingly.

The Mongolian Traffic Police Department has developed the application for encouraging public participation in reporting various issues including traffic offences. They have been receiving complaints about traffic offences from the public since 2016.
