The National Agency for Meteorology and Environment Monitoring (NAMEM) has warned the public to be alert and stay safe as a major snow storm is expected to hit western parts of Mongolia. The snow storm already began sweeping across  Arkhangai Province earlier today (19 September).

In the Darkhad Depression, the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul and Khentii, and in the basins of the Khuren Belcher, Ider and Tes rivers, the nighttime temperature will drop to 0 to 5 degrees, the daytime temperature will be 14 to 19 degrees Celsius. In the Gobi region, the nighttime temperatures will be 7-12 degrees and daytime temperatures are expected to be between 21-26 C.
