The Russian and Mongolian armies will hold a joint military at the Burduny Range in the Russian Republic of Buryatia in October. According to a Russian source, more than 1,000 servicemen will take part in the military exercise. During the active phase of the event, the military of the two neighbours will jointly solve tasks to fight ‘terrorists’ and cooperate with tactical airborne troops.
The ‘Selenge’ exercise has been carried out annually since 2008, with Russian and Mongolian troops engaging in collaborative field exercises to identify, block and destroy illegal armed groups.
