The plight of Mongolia’s visually impaired

There are 16 thousand visually impaired people living in Mongolia, no more than five percent of whom have jobs. This is considerably less  than in developed countries where an average of 30 percent are employed.

There are just a few jobs such as a masseurs and phone operators for visually impaired people.

Special street lights and access routes for the visually impaired cost two to three times the cost of those for the rest of the population.
