Leading international doctors and professors specializing in digestive tract surgery have come to Mongolia to participate in a joint cancer symposium. The countries represented include Mongolia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Kazakhstan, and Russia. The 10th Japanese-Mongolian international joint symposium on the Surgical Treatment of Digestive Tract was held in Ulaanbaatar under the theme: “A Modern Approach for Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Cancer Management”.
On the sidelines of the international symposium, a Mongolian-Korean joint team successfully performed a living donor liver transplant; this was the fifth time the National Cancer Center has conducted such surgery. In addition, joint teams also conducted laparoscopic liver resection and broadcast the procedure live. This represents a major practice in the modern approach to hepato-pancreato-biliary cancer treatment.
