Earlier today, the National Statistical Office of Mongolia (NSOM)  released its monthly economical reviews for June.  There was good news in that the total equilibrated revenue of the General Government Budget showed a MNT 12.9 billion profit in the first half of 2018. Previously, there had been a MNT 676.5 billion deficit for the same period of 2017.

However, consumer prices have increased by 0.5 percent since May, by 5 percent from 2017 and 7.2 percent on the same period of 2017. This has resulted in an increase in food prices – in particular vegetables and  eggs – electricity and gas.
