Mongolia’s Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin met with Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations on 17 July on the sidelines of a UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. The forum is taking place from July 16-18 in New York.
During the meeting, U.Enkhtuvshin expressed his gratitude for the UN contribution to Mongolia, including the many ongoing and successfully implemented projects and programmes across the country. Also, he highlighted the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) which was recently successfully hosted in Ulaanbaatar. U.Enkhtuvshin noted that Mongolia has been sending its troops to UN peace keeping operations since 2002 and the government is ready to increase number of peacekeepers.
The Deputy PM reminded Mr. Antonio Guterres that he has an invitation to visit Mongolia again.
