The road between the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar and the northern provinces of the county such as Darkhan and Selenge was closed due to flooding from 1.30 p.m. on Monday 16 July. The Urikhan station, located 103 km from Ulaanbaatar, was submerged under water after heavy rain swept the region. The Ulaanbaatar City Traffic Department has warned drivers not to use this road and to delay travel for a few days. The repair work for the damaged roads will begin as soon as the rain stops and the flood waters disperse.
