Officials say 20 new kindergartens will open for the upcoming school year. All the kindergartens have either been rebuilt or newly built. Among the new kindergartens are six in Bayanzurkh district, four in Sukhbaatar district, four in Songino-Khairkhan district, three in Chingeltei district, and one in Khan-Uul district. Four of the new kindergartens are being funded through a United Nations program.
And next year there will be even more. The World Bank plans to build 19 kindergartens, which will use state-of-the-art Canadian technology. Officials hope those kindergartens will be completed in time for the 2011-12 school year.
