The Mongolian government has awarded elderly ranger L.Dorj as a mark of appreciation for his contributions in saving the environment and protecting animals from illegal hunters over a period of 10 years. Currently, L.Dorj is working at the national Lake Khyargas reservation. The old ranger protects a total of 134,000 hectares area around Lake Airag.
Lake Airag is located in the Great Lakes Depression of north-western Mongolia an area rich in wildlife and rare migratory birds.
