Ukraine and US film-makers are co-producing a new movie about the Mongol Empire’s invasion of Europe in 1241. ‘The Rising Hawk’ produced by Kinorob studio (Battle for Sevastopol, The Stronghold) with support from the Ukraine State Film Agency will premiere in 2019. Shooting began in the Carpathian Mountains in the spring of 2018.

Mongolian actor Ts.Tserenbold is playing in a role as a representative of the invading hordes along with well-known Hollywood actors such as Tommy Flanagan, Poppy Drayton and Alison Doody. The movie is directed by Akhtem Seitablaev and John Wynn.
