On 3 July, 1922, the Internal Security Agency was established after Mongolia declared Independence from China’s Qing government in 1921. Since then, the General Intelligence Agency has been marking the day as ‘Spy Day’.
The exhibition entitled ’96 years of Keeping Security’, opened today at the Zanabazar Museum in central Ulaanbaatar. At the show, uniforms and over 120 letters written by of Marshal Kh.Choibalsan are being showcased. Russian President Vladimir Putin presented the uniform to former Mongolian President Ts.Elbgdorj on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. The uniforms date back to the 1940’s.
