Under the auspices of the President, the 3rd Mongolian Transplant Games commenced on Sunday on Sukhbaatar Square. The games are organised for examining the physical and mental state of organ transplant recipients, and as a way of showing respect and gratitude to the donors. The athletes engaged in eleven different categories of sporting events.

The Mongolian Transplant Games was founded by the reputed Polish-born British surgeon and pioneer Dr. Maurice Slapak, the Olympic champions N.Tuvshinbayar and E.Badar-Uugan and the Deputy Minister of Health.

The Games were previously held in 2008 and 2015.
