A special new exhibition entitled the ‘Steppe of Chinggis Khaan-Mongolian Nomads’, has opened in the city of Aarhus in Denmark . The exhibition is being co-organised by the National Museum of Denmark and the ‘Moesgaard’ Ethnographic Museum.

The exhibition displays Mongolian nomadic civilization and historic events relating to the live and achievements of Chinngis Khaan in an interesting way using modern digital technology, showcasing some 1240 ethnographic items and antiquities collected by Danish traveller and anthropoligist Henning Haslund-Christensen in the 1920-1930’s and historic finds of the 13th century which are preserved in the National Museum of Mongolia and the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences,

 At the opening of the event, Moesgaard Museum Director Mads Kähler Holst expressed his pleasure at conducting a historic exhibition for the first time in Denmark which tells about the steppe of Chinngis Khaan and the nomads’ life. In addition, it represents an important step in developing cooperation and research in the future.
