‘Made in Songinokhairkhan’, a centre for selling Mongolian products has opened in the Hailar District of Hulunbuir – a city in China’s Inner Mongolia. The establishment of the centre was part of a memorandum of understanding was signed during a trilateral economic forum of Mongolia, Russia and China in July 2016.
It has been ten years since the Songinokhairkhan District of Ulaanbaatar signed the cooperation agreement with the Hailar District. Inner Mongolians are interested in buying Mongolian products made of wool, leather and felt because, they too endure similar cold weather – and, the goods are made by fellow Mongolians!
Another positive development for Mongolian producers is an agreement of exempting products from taxes at the Altan Emeel Free Trade Zone, which is also located in China’s Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region. This will come into effect from August 2018. Subsequently, some Mongolian traders are counting the days!
