Khaan Quest 2018 is a multinational joint training exercise designed to strengthen the capabilities of US, Mongolian and other partner nations in international peace support operations.

Whilst the training is ongoing in the tough barren expanses of Mongolia, medical assistance is being provided by Mongolian and US Navy specialists for the public in a school in Ulaanbaatar. The so-called ‘Health Service Support Engagement’ took place at the 134th School in the UB on Monday 18 June.

Dozens of local residents lined up outside the school in order to be treated by experts in dental care, women’s health and cardiopulmonary health, as well as other specialties. Most of the ‘Health Services Support Engagement’ disciplines were staffed solely by Mongolian medical personnel; however the dental unit, was a partnership of four US enlisted sailors, a Qatari Armed Forces doctor, and Mongolian staff led by dentist Capt. G Unurjargal and maxillofacial surgeon 2nd Lt. T. Khangarid. Over 70 people a day have been helped by the military dentists.
