The Mongolian Cabinet has approved a bill to establish an agency in charge of people with disabilities. The agency will work for ensuring that people with disabilities receive opportunities to reach their maximum potential through participating in the community and the workforce.
According to National Statistics Office, a total of 3.3 percent or 103,630 of the Mongolian population are disabled. In total, 42 percent of families with disabled member are live below the poverty line. Only just over a quarter (28 percent) of disabled people aged between 15 and 59 are in employment.
