The Foreign Ministers of Mongolia and Bhutan have discussed several initiatives which are to be implemented in near future. Mongolian Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar met with his Bhutanese counterpart Damcho Dorji on 12 June, who is attending Inaugural Intergovernmental Meeting of International Think-Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries in Ulaanbaatar. At the meeting he noted that possibility to expand cooperation in tourism sector with Bhutan.
Minister Damcho Dorji said that Mongolia-Bhutan relations have been intensifying since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2012. He also added it was significant that Mongolian and Bhutanese Foreign Ministers have made mutual-visits in a short period of time. Minister Damcho Dorji expressed Bhutan’s interest in broadening relations and cooperation with Mongolia in tourism, agriculture, health and cultural sectors.
The last official visit by Minister Damcho Dorji was in September, 2017.
