The Mongolian national 3×3 team was defeated by Serbia, the No. 1 world team, in the quarterfinals of the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2018. The Mongolian team qualified for the quarterfinals after beating Brazil 19-16 in Pool C on Monday at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. Previously, the Mongolian team beat the host, the Philippines, and Russia. A total of 20 national teams are taking part in the competition.
This is the first time that the Mongolian national team has participated in the competition. The team won the Asian University 3×3 Basketball Championships, which were held in Malaysia in April. Last year, the Mongolian 3×3 basketball team became Asian champion. The Mongolian squad is composed of D.Delgernyam (6’3), E.Dulguun, E.Tsereenbaatar (6’6) and G.Tsenguubayar.
