Ahead of the East Asian Judo Championships, Mongolian and Russian athletes competed in the friendly competition on Sukhbaatar Square, in the centre of Ulaanbaatar, on 8 June. The friendly competition has been organised as a part of the ongoing ‘Mongolia-Russia Initiative – 2018’ event.
President Kh.Battulga mentioned the agreement reached with President Vladimir Putin during their meeting in Vladivostok last September to organise the 2018 ‘Mongolia-Russia Initiative’ event, the aims of which are to boost bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Mongolia is to host the East Asian Judo Championships which will be held at the weekend. Japan, China, Taipei, Macau, Hong Kong as well as a unified team from South and North Korea have also confirmed their participation at the Championships, taking the total number athletes present at the Central Sports Palace to over 200.
