An inter-governmental agreement exempting visas for Mongolian diplomatic or official passport holders travelling to Switzerland will come into effect from 16 June 2018. Under the agreement, Mongolian diplomats can travel visa-free to the country for up to 90 days. The agreement was signed on 5 April, 2018.

In addition, the two sides have discussed about issuing Swiss multi-visa for ordinary Mongolian passport holders for 3-5 years.

Currently, Mongolia has agreements with 90 countries that allow reciprocal travel without a visa for both diplomatic and official passport holders. Ordinary passport holders are able to travel to 22 of these countries without visas.
