Former Mongolian Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg, who had earlier been imprisoned in the 461st Detention Center in Ulaanbaatar, was transferred to a hospital on Monday (4 June). According to a source, the 50 year-old has been transferred to the Second General Hospital where former Prime Minister S.Bayar is also being treated.

Ch.Saikhanbileg will undergo urgent surgery as his health was deteriorated in the detention center, said his lawyer. Previously, the Mongolian court denied a request for release on bail.

S.Bayar and Ch.Saikhanbileg, the 25th and 27th Mongolian Prime Ministers, have been accused of an abuse of power while making the 2009 Oyu Tolgoi Investment Agreement and the 2015 Oyu Tolgoi Underground Mine Development and Financing Plan respectively.
