A fire in rubbish bin is not unusual, but on this occasion it set fire to a car parked nearby and became something far more serious. Firefighters battled the blaze outside the UBH office building in the Sukhbaatar District of Ulaanbaatar that destroyed a Toyota Prius 20 earlier today, Wednesday 30 May. The vehicle caught fire in the car park of the  UBH office building which is located behind the National Institute of Forensic Science.

Firefighters from the Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency extinguished the blaze quickly, however, a pall of black smoke covered the area and office workers were ordered to leave their desks and go outside away.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. NEMA fire officers are suspecting it was simply caused by a discarded cigarette butt being thrown into the rubbish bin.
