Erdenet Mining Corporation (EMC), one of the biggest ore mining and ore processing plants in Asia, is marking its 40th anniversary this year. Kh.Badamsuren, director of EMC met with journalists to talk about the company’s operation.

The Erdenet Mining Corporation contributed a total of MNT 615 billion to State Budget in 2017 and MNT 252 billion in first quarter of 2018. The company has increased monthly pay packets for its employees twice in 2017; 10 percent in May and 20 percent in July. Currently, average monthly salary reached to MNT 2,300,000 and minimum stood MNT 1,013,000. The EMC aims to raise monthly salaries to USD 1000 in 2019.

The company has conducted geological research worth of USD 6,000,000. As result, the company has the possibility to be fully confident of its operations for another 60 years.
