The Mongolian Cabinet approved a decision on Wednesday 23 May, to ease visa regulations. The new rules are as follows:
90 day-visas can be issued twice without prior permission to any foreign citizen who was born to Mongolian parents or who previously gave up his or her Mongolian citizenship. This also applied to the direct family members of the individual. and his family members.
Previously, a residence visa had been required for a foreign investor or foreign citizen employed in an intergovernmental organisation and his or her family members. Under new the rules, temporary visitors (J-tourist, B-business and H-private) can obtain right-of-residence.
The number of days of visa rejection has been reduced from 90 to 30 for applicants who have been charged with crimes prior to application. Also, a foreign citizens who receives a Mongolian visa rejection can re-apply after 30 days. Temporary visitors can extend their visas after 90 days.
Visa applicants can apply for a visa extension online for a foreign citizens and private invitations.
