The deputy foreign ministers of Mongolia, Russia and China have met in Beijing in order to discuss preparations for next month’s summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and other mutually important matters.
The meeting was attended by delegations led by Mongolia’s Deputy Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov, and Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Hanhui.
On the agenda was discussion regarding the preparations for the upcoming 4th meeting of the three respective heads states, which is planned to be held during the SCO Summit. The summit will be held in the Chinese coastal city of Qingdao on 9-10 June and will be chaired by President Xi.
During the Beijing meeting the three deputy foreign ministers also discussed accelerating the establishment of the Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor, which is an important feature of the Belt and Road Initiative.
