A cousin of Asashoryu Davgadorj has won the Jonidan Division in Japanese Professional Sumo.  Hoshiryu S.Byambasuren triumphed after defeating Sasakiyama on 25 May. So far, the rivals have six wins in the Haru Basho which ends on Sunday.

S.Byambasuren, who is the son of Asashoryu’s brother, will compete in the in the Sandanme Division during this summer’s Basho.

D. Davgadorj was the 68th yokozuna in the history of the sport in Japan and became the first Mongol to reach sumo’s highest rank in January 2003.
