Every year, on the second Saturdays of May and October, Mongolians plant trees. This year, National Tree Planting Day will be held on 12 May.

The President of Mongolia issued a decree to observe National Tree Planting Day in 2010. Since then, over 10.5 million trees have been planted nationwide.

Trees play a vital role in helping remove air-borne pollution such as dust and carbon dioxide.
