Entitled ‘Ulaanbaatar Urban Forest’ or the Mongolia and South Korean Friendship Park, a new recreational zone is to be constructed at Dambadarjaa in the Sukhbaatar District in the heart of the capital, Ulaanbaatar. The project is a part of cooperation between Mongolia-Korean ‘Green Wall’ project and Ministry of Environment and Tourism. The construction of 40 hectares of new park is being financed by the 3 billion Korean Won, non-refundable aid package from the South Korean Forest Development Agency.
The Ulaanbaatar Urban Forest is expected to open in 2021 with cycle paths, play areas, sport fields as well as over 100 different types of trees and plants.
