The Mongolian Health Workers’ Union (HWU) held a demonstration on Ulaanbaatar’s Sukhbaatar Square earlier today (8 May) threatening industrial action. The HWU submitted letters with demands to the health minister, the prime minister and government to increase monthly salary by no less than 50  percent within the second quarter of 2018 and increase cash bonuses to 60 percent.

If they receive no response by Friday (11 May), the union plans to start a  strike of all health workers.
