Located just south of Peace Avenue in central Ulaanbaatar, Seoul Street, has been refurbished to become a ‘Nightlight Street’. In accordance with the plan from the urban planning department of the UB administration, refurbishment works including a 440 meter long pavement, a new public arena with a LED screen and seats, green space restoration and the installation of numerous lights have been undertaken. Much of the work was completed last year.

This year, the Nightlight Street will officially open to locals and tourists on Friday (11 May). When it opens, special events will be organised every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Young people will be able to dance, sing and skate; there will also be some BMX shows.

Heaven help the residents of Seoul Street, who want a good night’s sleep!
