The Mongolian Rugby Federation is marking the 15th anniversary of its establishment this year. Currently, there are over 1000 rugby players in the country – and the number is rising!
Michael Leitch, captain of Japan’s national rugby team has proposed to cooperate with the Mongolian Rugby Federation for creating new rugby stars. Leitch, who is a fully bi-lingual Japanese Kiwi, said in his letter ‘Mongolians can made a success in rugby just as they have done in Japanese professional sumo. We want to train three strong and healthy Mongolian boys aged 15 years-old by offering rugby scholarships.’
