South Korean President Lee Myung-bak began his official visit to Mongolia on Sunday. This is the third time a South Korean leader has visited Mongolia since the two countries established diplomatic relations 21 years ago. In his meetings with Mongolian officials, Mr. Lee is expected to discuss economic cooperation, the employment of Mongolian workers, and opportunities for Mongolians to study in Korea. Also to be discussed: Mongolia’s role in the sensitive six-party talks to improve relations between North and South Korea. As a result of Mr. Lee’s visit, Mongolia and South Korea hope to improve trade relations as well.
