In September 2017, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola kicked off in Moscow. The cup stayed in Russia until December before starting its global tour in which it is covering over 50 countries. This is the first time a couple of dozen Asian countries (including Mongolia) have been added to the trophy tour.

The  current ‘World Cup Trophy’ was introduced in 1974. Made of 18 carat gold with a malachite base, it stands 36.8 centimeters high and weighs 6.1 kilograms. The object was made by the ‘Stabilimento Artistico Bertoni’ company in Italy; it depicts two human figures holding up the Earth.
