The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia on 14 June to 15 July. A Mongolian child will accompany a football player to entering the pitch in the match between Switzerland and Costa Rico, to be held on 27 June in the Russian city of Nizhnii-Novgorod. A child who accompanies a football player entering the pitch, is called match mascot; this is a huge thrill and honour for any young athlete!

At this year’s World Cup, Kia Motors Mongolia is sponsoring the programme that will bring a Mongolian child to escort the football stars onto the field of glory. The luckiest child will be chosen by this company for his or her essay entitled ‘My Dream KIA’. The essay competition is open to all 10-14 years-old Mongolians.
