The Mongolian national ice hockey team recently won the ‘Asian Challenge Cup – 2018’ international ice hockey tournament in the Philippines. Yesterday, Mongolian President Kh. Battulga received the national hockey team members.

At the meeting, the president, who is a keen sportsman, pledged his personal support for establishing a national ice hockey league and recruiting skilled players. The head of state promised to continue collaborating with foreign ambassadors in commencing new projects and pushing existing ones forward on constructing hockey venues in Mongolia.

Over eight years of participation, the Mongolian national ice hockey team has taken four bronze and one silver medals. This year, the team championed the FIH Asian Challenge Cup and claimed entry to the world championships.
