Mongolia opened an honorary consulate in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, in 2014. Now, it is to be developed into an embassy. Earlier today (6 April), the Mongolian parliament passed a bill to open the new embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
The volume of trade between Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan is currently USD 600,000. The number of Mongolians living in the mountainous Central Asian country is also not high – only 45 citizens. Recently, Mongolia decided to abolish its embassy in Brazil where less than 40 Mongolians live.
