Ch.Saikhanbileg, former Mongolian Prime Minister has sent a letter from United States of America (USA) to attorney general M.Enkh-Amgalan and Kh.Enkh-Jargal, director of the Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC).
In the letter, Mr. Ch.Saikhanbileg explained that he has been staying in USA because his brother is undergoing cancer treatment in the country. While he is away from home, a letter outlining his involvement in the controversial Oyu Tolhoi agreement, was sent by the State General Prosecutor’s Office of Mongolia and the IAAC. The former PM has outlined his position regarding the agreement. However, some Mongolian media agencies are claiming that Ch.Saikhanbileg fled abroad to avoid prosecution and must be tracked down. The former PM has said he will return home next week and to be questioned.
