On Tuesday, the Mongolian Cabinet has backed the resolution for a  nationwide ban on horse races until 1 June. The resolution was presented by Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin, for preventing the spread of animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth.  

In addition, the movement of livestock has been banned in provinces affected by foot-and-mouth disease.
