Zuun Khuree Dashchoiling monastery will soon welcome a new 16-meter-tall statue of the Buddhist god Maidar. The artist N. Orgil is re-creating the statue from the original in Tibet. The reconstruction of the Maidar sculpture is expected to incorporate traditional Mongolian artwork, while also showcasing modern trends. Meanwhile, reconstruction work at the Dashchoiling monastery is still underway.
