The Mongolian Minerals-Mining-2018 forum was held at the State Palace on 22 March. Delegates from over 10 countries including China, Russia and Kazakhstan have participated in the forum.
During the forum, the Mongolian Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industries has introduced four mega projects. For example, the ministry is implementing a mining and metallurgy project at the Darkhan Metallurgical Plant (DMP); for this the project needs USD 700 million of investment. Other projects include a copper concentrate refinery project costing USD 2.1 billion and a refinery producing synthetic natural oil from coal costing USD 2.5 billion.
