Monument inspired by famous painting ‘Stallion Fight’

One of Mongolia’s famous paintings, ‘Stallion Fight’ by State Honoured Artist O.Tsevegjav will be recreated as a statue in Dornod Province. The project was initiated by the Dornod Youth Federation in Ulaanbaatar.

O.Tsevegjav was one of Mongolia’s greatest artists of  the 20th century of Mongolia. He was born in 1915 in Agiin Province, at a place called Shaazgait; when he was a year old, his family moved to Bayandun soum of Dornod province. O.Tsevegjav entered school in 1926 but obtained only four years of formal education. He was however naturally talented in painting and by developing his ability, went on to create many famous paintings and played an important role in Mongolian fine arts.

O.Tsevegjav was one of the seven people who established the first fine art establishment in Mongolia in 1942.Today, fine arts are well developed in the country and  Mongolia has many outstanding artists.
