International Master of Sport B.Sumiya made Olympic history by earning Mongolia’s first gold medal in a Winter Olympics competition.  – sadly this was not Pyongchang. She won a gold medal at the II Winter Youth Olympic Games which was held in the Norwegian town of Lillehammer, in February, 2016.

However, this year B.Sumiya was not able to participate in the Olympic qualification competitions due to financial difficulties, said her father in an interview. Fortunately, B.Sumiya will now be able to study at the Physical Training University in Japan thanks to support from former sumo wrestler, Asashoryu D.Davgadorj. B.Sumiya will now be aiming for the next Winter Olympic Games.
